Why are hookahs not smokey sometimes? You might have encountered a situation like this. You go to the hookah spot expecting to enjoy the clouds and perfect flavor. You order a hookah. What for about 10-15 minutes, and boom. Here it is, coming your way is a perfectly fine looking hookah. You take a puff and… There goes nothing. Hookah is not smokey and clouds are small. You start to wander what is the reason for this. Well, we are going to go over the common reasons for this.

First and foremost, hookah is meant to be tightly sealed. Make sure to check all the connectors for air leaks. This is the most common reason for hookah to lack the clouds. If there are any seals that are not tightly connected make sure to address this and see if that fixes the issue. Also check if the submerging part of the stem has enough amount of “submerging” in the water. Otherwise you’ll just pull air and will not get the best result.

Other thing you might want to check is if your head is packed way too tight. We love Tight packs, but most of the times they are hard to execute right. Since tobacco needs heat to circulate around the tobacco leafs, make sure there is enough fluffiness in your pack. IF the pack is tight and it is o n purpose, make are to add more heat. This will help a lot.

Check the quality of your charcoals. Charcoals burn or generate heat at different levels. Some charcoals are not as good as the others and generate way too little heat. If there is not enough heat, the juice will not evaporate properly. We have a video on our YouTube channel about the different types of charcoals, so make sure to watch that as well, I am pretty sure it will help you a lot.

So these are some common reasons your hookah is not smokey, next time you prepare your hookah or go o the hookah spot, make sure to check all the mentioned above to get the best experience possible.
